It’s a good time to start getting into shape since summer is arriving soon. Unfortunately I have a tendency to slack off my regular exercise routine during the winter months. My lack of physical activity has contributed to my weight gain, so I really could benefit from working out more in the gym. A friend of mine tried to convince me to drop by the gym a few times a week after work. He has a serious workout routine that allows him to stay in shape year round. He says I will start feeling better fast if I set a schedule and follow his routine.
I’ve taken the initiative to begin exercising more and have even started to pay more attention to my diet. I have a strong interest in lifting weights, so I’m excited to try some weight training at the gym after work. My buddy has been lifting weights religiously for years, so he said he would show me how to get ripped in no time. That would be great because I really could use a few more muscles. I don’t want to look like a wrestling champion, I just want to feel better and maintain a healthy physique.
I wouldn’t say that I live an unhealthy lifestyle, but it is obvious that I need to spend more time doing physical activities. I work in an office and spend most of my days sitting at a desk. There are so many days when I simple want to get out from behind the desk and move around. It’s not always possible since my work involves being at a computer for most of the day. Spending a few hours after work to walk or lift weights at the gym just might be exactly what I need to get back to a healthy weight and get ripped like my friend.
My exercise goals are in place, now all I have to do is follow through with them. During the next few weeks I’ll be working on some push-pull routines and will focus on strengthening my ab muscles. I’m determined to meet my goals and expect to see decent results. I understand that I won’t see results immediately, but I won’t give up this time around. I plan to eat healthy and work out throughout the summer, and perhaps I’ll be focused enough to continue a solid workout through next winter too.
